Whose E-mail Is It Anyway?

Poll-creator's note: Even if I don't like it when people share e-mail addresses, I don't hold it against those who do. It's not a show-stopper.

[Poll #1166648]

email addresses and animals

I have a particular email address that I use on dog guide groups. The identification on that address says "Sarah and [current working dog's name]." I wouldn't call this sharing with my animal--my animal does not write. But in the world of dog schools, people often identify each other by both the person and dog's name, especially when remembering classmates. Sometimes we don't know each other's last names. This is the one place where I feel it is appropriate to put my dog in any sort of limelight: beside me.

when people get emails from me, it says from the pawpower pack and at the bottom of the email is my name and the names of my dogs. This is because in the dog world (I don't just mean in the guide dog /dog guide/service dog/dog service world_ people know you by your dog's name, and it's easier to have it default to put it in there and take it off when I don't want it there than it is to write my name, and the names of my bitches every time. The majority of my lists are dog lists. I wouldn't call that sharing with my dogs though because I write and read all the email. Once they learn to read and write then I will share addresses with them, or give the dog one of their own.

Oddly, it never occurred to me to share my email with an animal.
