A Chest of Nuts Roasting on an Open Fire

Disclaimer: I do not wish to offend anyone. But nor do I want to repeat the same fifty disclaimers fifty times. I use the word Christmas in this poll. By "Christmas", I mean whatever you might be celebrating during this time of year. Use of the word "Christmas" is not meant to belittle, deny, or show disrespect to any other belief system.

We do "gourmetten" here in the Netherlands. Lots of small pieces of meat, chicken, and fish, cooked directly on the table in a special grill that holds a tiny frying pan for each inividual. You put in some butter, meat of choice, add some chopped veg, and cook till done. Then you smother it on garlic butter, whiskey sauce, mayo, or pepper sauce and eat. Once in a while, tear off a chunk of baguette bread to soak up the leftover sauce. Repeat until bursting. Then clean out the little pan, add pancake batter, and make little tiny pancakes called "poffertjes."

Wash down with copious amounts of wine, and then coffee afterwards. :c)

We're having a roast beef dinner for Christmas Eve, after the reception at church. On Christmas day, we'll have sticky sweet rolls (and maybe scrambled eggs) in the morning, and then a buffet spread in the afternoon, including Ham, other cold-cuts, Home-baked Mac-N-Cheese, Cranberry-pineapple-marshmallow-coolwhip salad, Sparkling Cider, etc.
