Life's Pressing Questions

1. Teddy bears; Winnie the Pooh; Care Bears; bears are always
represented to children as being cute and cuddly, lovable and friendly.
In real life, your average bear considers children good eating. Why the
dichotomy?

2. How can anyone eat a fungus?

3. How can anyone not like the Douglas Adams books?

4. How can anyone not like Corner Gas?

5. Who has the authority to tell me about what syntax I am or am not
allowed to use in grammar, and on what basis did they earn that
authority? Why do we bow to it?

6. Is the fact that it's 9:18 AM as I write this at all relevant?

Lol! :)

Hey, you know, question 1 is a very good one. As far as no. 4, um, we don't have that show here in the States, unfortunately. In fact, I hadn't even heard of it until probably a couple years ago. From what I hear, it's hilarious.

Actually, CG is now available in the US as of last year. WGN airs it pretty much every night. The best days to watch it though are Wednesday evenings since the timing is better. Sadly, although they're running it, as far as I know, they're not running the descriptions with it. But, if you're interested, write me privately; I may be able to help.

Because all cute bears are stuffed. Stuffed bears can't, and won't, eat children, though sometimes, a mother wishes they might.
2. How can anyone eat a fungus?
I don't. Yuck!
3. How can anyone not like the Douglas Adams books?
Two words, Dennis Bateman!
4. How can anyone not like Corner Gas?
I think you really have to be into commedy to like CG; I tried several eps and could not get the humor. Also, I relate better to books rather than TV.
5. Who has the authority to tell me about what syntax I am or am not allowed to use in grammar...?
No one, unless it's immensely incorrect, you ain't got no right to tell nobody else how dey can talk, man! :) LOL
6. Is the fact that it's 9:18 AM as I write this at all relevant?
Probably, because of the way the Toews mind works.

Okay, I felt obligated to answer because I'm bored!

1. that is why I collect stuffed dogs. At least real dogs are friendly and cuddly.

2. Let's see. Fungus tastes good? LOL. Put a bunch of garlic, a-1, and worcestershire sauce on it, and mmm!

3. Who is Douglas Adams?

4. I guess because I have no idea what it is. LOL.

5. Nobody!!! We bow to it because we were taught to do so, and who likes breaking grammatical rules other than people who don't know them? LOL.

6. Nah.

don't say I didn't warn you!

I'll go along with the bit about such bears usually being stuffed. Plus I've always seen cartoon bears as being much smaller than your typical child-eating-type bear.

2. How can anyone eat a fungus? That process involves the use of the teeth, oddly enough. Plus, people don't eat the particular fungi all alone, but prefer them sauteed in butter or as part of a dish with some sort of sauce and other vegies and meat and noodles or whatever. Hey, how can anyone eat cheese. Same type of thing.

3. How can anyone not like the Douglas Adams books? Because the really crappy thing about people is they are all individuals, despite any atempts by the great entity named Society to leech it all out of them. Some people prefer books about reality to any semblence of science fiction, and some folks just don't get the humor therein. How can anyone not like Monty Python or Tom Lehrer or Firesign Theater, for example. Same thing.

4. How can anyone not like Corner Gas? You'll wanna refer to what I just wrote under question 3.

5. Who has the authority to tell me about what syntax I am or am not
allowed to use in grammar, and on what basis did they earn that
authority? Why do we bow to it? Um, 42?

6. Is the fact that it's 9:18 AM as I write this at all relevant? Not unless I say so, and then again, my saying so seems to be under question right now. Somebody needs to die so I can become God, or, um, something, or maybe not. LOL!
