Off to the States

And so we come to another exciting entry in my Live Journal.

After my last entry, custaveron claims I provided too much information.. FunBlindSinger disputed my claim of not getting any sympathy, claiming that she provided said sympathy. I'm glad to report that as of this writing, there are no peanuts swirling around my insides, so the T.M.I. plea need not be submitted, and I have no need for sympathy and will therefore not claim to be given a lack of it.

So here it is, around 2:30 in the morning, and I'm just now getting around to packing for my weekend trip to the States. I'm loading books onto my Book Port for reading, I've got my laptop at the ready, and have made up a package to mail out while I'm across the border. It should be a fun trip ... my roommate and I do this a few times a year, taking one of those cheap bus trips out to Minnesota.

On my return, I plan to start exercising, as prescribed by
funblindsinger (see a previous post). For an outof-shape buffalo like me, I'll have to start slowly, but by baflurgons, I'm determined.

So waht books am I taking, I hear you cry? Two Star Trek books, some P.G. Wodehouse, and we'll see what else. I think I'll take Beauty Tips from Moose Jaw too, just for fun.

Oh, and would the anonymous commentor to my list of questions please identify him- or herself? Those answers were great.

Had another afternoon in the booth yesterday narrating a talking book. Sean (my boss) presided over the producer's desk, and we had a really good session. Flubs were kept to a minimum (horray for small miracles). Then it was off home to start working on collecting those books, a nice four hours on Skype, and here I am, chronicling my exciting day, that all may read.

Now, back to the subject of books, if anyone likes British humor and has not checked out any books by P.G. Wodehouse, you're in for the treat of a lifetime. Wodehouse stands alone. Wonderful stuff, Wodehousian books. Very funny, particularly the Jeeves books and the Blandings Castle books.

Well, folks, thanks for reading this. It's been fun. I'm back Sunday night, and since circumstances beyond my control will prevent me from chatting on Skype, I'll probably join the Treasure Island Oldies chat room, touch base with friends and all that. I won't be doing a radio show this week, but am hoping that by next week I'll have my CD's of the BBC dramatization of Right Ho Jeeves, which I'm planning to play. If that doesn't work out, I'll use a dramatization of the Sherlock Holmes novel A Study in Scarlet.
