Okay, so this morning almost started off badly. I had this dream liast
night, you see. In it, my Handi-Transit driver got to my apartment ten
minutes early. Then he kept dropping other people off and picking up
more, dropping people off and picking up more. At about a quarter after
eight (I start work at 7:50) the driver's shift ended and a new driver
started driving. At around 8:45 or so the driver decided not to take me
to work, and dropped me off at home again. I go upstairs, but I'm
panicking. Apparently it hadn't occurred to me to call my employer to
tell her I'd be late, even though I had my phone right with me. But I
did want to let Caroline know what was going on; however, in this dream,
the only way I could let her know was using MIRC. But my synthetic
speech wasn't working, so I had to use a Cranmer-Modified Perkins
Brailler. Haven't seen one of those in twenty years, not since my first
year of college. So I satarted up MIRC, but the program wanted to spell
out MIRC using equals signs, and my Cranmer started printing this out, a
phenomenal waste of paper. That's when I woke up.

So I talked to Caroline for a bit, got dressed, and stumbled downstairs
to go to work. My Handi-Transit driver was about ten minutes early. Same
vehicle as the one in the dream. Thankfully, that's where the similarity
ended. Regretably, I got to work, and here I am. We have a meeting this
afternoon to discuss the braille Code changes that took effect in
January. Fun, fun, fun.

Well, the morning passed. Nothing particularly, or even slightly,
exciting happened. Nothing bad happened either, so that's a good thing.

This cold spell is coming to an end. That's wonderful news. I think the
frigid weather for months on end has been largely responsible for my
mild depression of late ... I tell you again, you Americans, for the
most part, wonderful as you are, don't understand the meaning of the
world cold.

The 2008 CFL schedule was released
today. Soon, well okay, in June, my beloved Bombers will be hitting the field
again. My world will be complete. I love Canadian football, and I love
my Bombers.

I've brushed up on my presentation for this afternoon's meeting. I've
got it fairly easy. I assigned myself rule 2 of the Braille Formats
Course, preliminary pages. The only really new thing there is how we
braille ISBN's. So I expect my presentation to take all of, maybe, two
minutes. Bob went through the trouble of making handouts for his
presentations. Not I. What would my handout look like? Not a lot. I
wonder if they'll serve Coke at the meeting? I should be so lucky.

Wow, the radio's saying -6 as the high on Sunday. That's 21.2 for those
using the antiquated scale. Now I'm listening to the Perkins commercial.
They have a new seafood menu, I'm sure [livejournal.com profile] tazcat would love it,
ha ha. Here comes the sports report.

Okay, I guess I'm getting boring. Everyone have a great afternoon.

Got some good news today. After my last trip to Milwaukee, I had had some trouble with the airline not giving me the assistance I required. So I filed a complaint. I just got an apology from them, plus a $150 travel voucher. Which means I'm buying my ticket for my April trip tonight! Woo-hoo! God is good!
